MAAMBA celebrates International Ride MTB Day with talent hunt competitions

Imphal, July 20 2025: The Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA) observed International Ride MTB Day on Sunday with an exhilarating celebration at the foothills of Heingang Marjing Kachin in Imphal East district.

The day-long event featured inclusive talent hunt programmes across women's, children's, and men's elite categories, culminating in a thrilling downhill showdown that captivated participants and spectators alike.

Nearly 100 mountain biking enthusiasts from across the state�representing a diverse mix of professionals and hobbyists�gathered to embrace the spirit of adventure and eco-conscious recreation.

In the children's category, young riders Nganba and Mangal emerged as standout performers, while the women's category saw fierce competition, with Urbashi, Basanti, and Leina securing the top three positions, respectively.

All elite male riders and downhill participants were honoured with finishers' mementoes in recognition of their dedication and performance.

MAAMBA extended heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement and sportsmanship.

The association also expressed sincere gratitude to Dr N Sanjib Singh, medical superintendent of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, for deploying a medical team and ambulance service�ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone involved in the high-energy outdoor event.

Through this initiative, MAAMBA continues its commitment to promoting adventure sports, nurturing young talent, and fostering a culture of inclusive experiential learning in Manipur.
