State contingent departs for Khelo India Water Sports Festival in Srinagar

Imphal, August 19 2025:
Manipur's contingent for the Khelo India Water Sports Festival departed Imphal on Tuesday for Srinagar.
The national event will take place from August 21 to 23, 2025 .
The contingent comprises 20 athletes and five supporting officials.
The state athletes will be competing across rowing, canoeing, and kayaking events.
The rowing team features Yumnam Chengjoulembi Devi (single scull), Pukhrabam Rishikanta (single scull), and the women's double scull pair of Moirangthem Ashapyari Devi and Kuman Bhumeshori Devi.
In canoeing, Haobijam Sayonba Singh (C1 1000m) and the pair of Laishom Rajesh Mettei and Laishram Rishikesh Singh (C2 500m) will compete.

The men's kayak squad includes Ningthoujam Ngangba Singh and Laiphrakpam Sanatomba Singh (K2 500m), who will also be joined by Lanthoiba Potshangbam and Konjengbam Nelson Singh in the K4 500m .
The women's team is led by Toijam Dimita Devi (K1 500m, K2 500m), Oinam Bidyaluxmi Devi (C1 200m), and the C2 500m crew of Chelsi Khandrakpam and Maibram Melody Devi.
Chingakham Bimola Devi joins Dimita in the K2, while Waikhom Roniya Devi, Thongam Romila Devi, Kumam Rabina Devi, and Naoroibam Dayanandan Devi form the women's K4 500m team.
Leading the state contingent is Chef de Mission Takhellambam Dushanta Singh, with Rk Shakhensana as nodal officer.
The coaching responsibilities will be handled by Kh Indira Devi for rowing, and by Khoisnam Sunita Devi and Kangjam Santoshbanta Singh for the canoeing & kayaking squad.
