Six state boxers advance to pre-QFs at Junior National Championships

Imphal, June 19 2025: Six boxers from the state secured their places in the pre-quarterfinals at the 6th Junior National Box ing Championships 2025 in Rohtak, Haryana, on Thursday.

Lairenlakpam Ambekar Meetei, Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba Singh, Thongram Manithoiba Meitei, Salam Diamond Singh, Karung Albertson Kom, and Moirangthem Khrismira Devi triumphed in their respective categories to progress further in the tournament.

In the junior boys' division, Ambekar overpowered Pondicherry's Anbuchelian via Referee Stopping Contest (RSC) in the second round of the 48kg category, while Lanchenba delivered a similarly dominant performance against Nishanth (also from Pondicherry) by RSC in the 50kg division.

Manithoiba, meanwhile, outclassed Anshu Panchal with a flawless 5-0 victory in the 52kg category.

Additionally, Salam Diamond (54kg) and Karung Albertson Kom (57kg) also claimed victories in their respective bouts.

The girls' event saw Khrismira cruise to a convincing 5-0 win over Telangana's An-ugraha Jupally in the 46kg division.
