St Paul's, AG Memorial triumph in U-15 boys' Subroto Cup semis

Imphal, July 16 2025: St Paul's High School (Chandel) and AG Memorial Academy (Thoubal) have set the stage for a final showdown in the State Level Subroto Cup Football Tournament 2025 (U-15 Boys), following their semifinal triumphs at Cha-jing Kangjeibung Ground on Wednesday.

In the first semifinal, St Paul's High School edged past St Joseph's Higher Secondary School (Tengnoupal with a narrow 1-0 victory.

The decisive goal came in the 7th minute, courtesy of Arathung, wearing jersey number 7 .

The match was intense, with physical play on both sides.

Two cautions were issued to Tengnoupal players - Rengllian Aimol and N Bonison - for reckless pushing and kicking respectively.

The second semifinal saw a more high-scoring affair as AG Memorial Academy defeated Ramananda High School (Imphal East) 3-2 .

Thoubal's Morchando (No 9) opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by a brace from Thoungamba (No 8) in the 23rd and 36th minutes.

Imphal East made a strong second-half comeback with goals from S Binodkumar and Ng Shidas in the 54th and 58th minutes respectively, but it wasn't enough to overturn the deficit.

Three players were cautioned during this match: Sh Punshiba (Imphal East) for CPA, and Thoubal's Mangal and Morchando for holding and a reckless tackle respectively.
