State trio selected for 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship

Imphal, June 16 2025:
Three state athletes have been selected for the Indian squad competing at the 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025, set to be held from July 24 to 31 in Ha Tinh province, Vietnam.
Thokchom Roji Chanu, Wahengbam Sidhir Meetei, and Premchandra Yengkhom will represent IndiaRat the championship.
Roji will participate in the Tanding event (50-55kg weight category), while Sidhir and Premchandra will compete in the Seni artistic Ganda event.
The athletes were chosen for the national team by the Indian Pencak Silat Federation based on their outstanding performances at the 13th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship (May 9-12, 2025), where they each secured gold medals.
Notably, Manipur has a strong track record in Pencak Silat, with numerous athletes winning gold, silver, and bronze medals at both Asian and world-level competitions.
