State team departs for 15th Hockey India Junior Men National C'ship

Imphal, August 14 2025: Manipur's 18-mem-ber squad, accompanied by two officials, departed Imphal on Thursday to compete in the 15th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2025, currently under way in Jalandhar, Punjab, from August 12 to 23 .

The state team was ceremoniously flagged off at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal, in the presence of Manipur Hockey officials and well-wishers, who expressed optimism for a strong showing at the tournament.

The team has Ph Arbin Singh (BH) and Ch Ranbir Singh (TWC) as goalkeepers, backed by a defensive unit of L Sushil (KHSC), T Ricky (HU), L Pritam (YCCIC), Kh Somekant (HU) and N Uttam (KHSC) .

Midfield duties will be shared among M Thoiba (KHSC), A Suresh Sharma (HU), N Amarjit (SEYO), L Samson (KHSC), L Sheleiba (KHSC) and S Bedyacharan (YCCIC) .

The attacking force comprises L Harish (KHSC), I Rohit (SEYO), Y Bidyananda (HU), Kh Nermal (TH) and Th Thonglen (MEIRAA) .

Drawn in Pool C, Manipur will face Hockey Haryana and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey in the group stage.

Manipur Hockey has extended its best wishes to the players, expressing hope that they will make the state proud on the national stage.
