Robinson, Jesika emerge best boxers as Nongada Boxing Academy lift team champions trophy

Imphal, February 14 2026: Nongada Boxing Academy's Kh Robinson (-27 kg) and S Jesika (-31 kg) were adjudged the best boxers as the academy lifted the team champions trophy of the 5th Master Boxing Championships 2026 hosted by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

Nongada Boxing Academy (NBA) amassed 8 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals across various weight categories to secure the team champions title as Sarita Regional Boxing Academy (SRBA)-A finished first runners up with 6 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals and Premkumar Boxing Academy (PBA) secured 5 gold and 3 silver medals to finish second runners up.

As Kh Robinson (-27 kg) bagged the best boxer accolade in the boys category, K Tomthinganba of Mahesh Boxing Academy (-25 kg) and A Jenison of Thangmeiband United Club (TUC) (-27 kg) were adjudged the most promising boxer and best loser respectively.

Meanwhile, L Lingjenthoibi of Khoijuman Boxing Academy (-31 kg) and Sh Ichantombi of Thangmeiband United Club (-35 kg) were named as the most promising and best loser respectively.

The closing function of the championships was attended by Maheshwor Thounaojam, National secretary, CWC member and State president of RPI (Athawale); W Opendro, retd National Awardee Teacher and an advisor to MABA; RK Amarjeet, Programme Executive, DDK Imphal; Dr Indibar Wahengbam, managing director, Suba Hospital, RIMS Road, Kombirei Keithel and Sneha Mishra Surve, founder, Sampurna Sneh Foundation as dignitaries.

Final day highlight

Elangbam Shandhyananda of SRBA-A secured the -27 kg (2014-2015) boys' title by defeating SRBA-B's Rinngam Yangya in the final as Huirongbam Moramba of TUC sealed the -29 kg category gold by defeating Chanambam Orish of NSA .

RK Lanchenba of Mahesh Boxing Academy (MBA) meanwhile claimed the -31 kg category title by defeating PBA's Leimapokpam Karnabhakta in the final.

Prabin Thounaojam (-33 kg), Heikham Henthoi (-35 kg) of SRBA-A, Phavaimi Kasomhung (-37 kg) of SRBA-A, Sandham Lamnganba (-39 kg) of NBA, Nongthombam Diamond (-41 kg), Oinam Manithoiba (-43 kg) of Mayengbam Suranjit Boxing Academy (MSBA), Lourembam Chinglemba (-45 kg) of SRBA-A also emerge winners in their respectively weight category competition for boys born between 2014 and 2015 .

For Master boys born between 2016 and 2017, Keisham Tomthinganba of MBA beat Sarungbam Lamnganba for the -25 kg category gold as Khongbantabam Robinson beat Angom Jeninson for the -27 kg category gold.

Gs Leiyamung of SRBA-A meanwhile clinched the -29 kg category gold by defeating SRBA-B's Mayarngam Sharon in the final as Khundom Sanatomba of NBA beat Ringphaso Layam for the -31 kg category gold.

Wangkheirakpam Thoihen (-33 kg) of NBA, Wangkheirakpam Anand (-35 kg) of NBA, Naorem Yuhenba (-39 kg) of MSBA, Ningthoujam Pamuba (-43 kg) also picked gold medals in their respective weight categories.

The day also saw Haojam Lanchenba of KACTL securing the -33 kg gold for boys born between 2018 and 2019 as he beat Wakambam Bungthoi of NBA in the final.

Girls (2014-2015)

Huidrom Alva of PBA secured the -29 kg category title for girls born between 2014 and 2015 as she got the better of Lukram Roshny of SRBA-A in the final bout.

Leitanthem Lingjenthoi of KACTL on the other hand beat Nelcy Yendrembam for the -31 kg category gold.

Sanjenbam Jesika of NBA meanwhile defeated Shamandram Echantombi of TUC for the -35 kg category gold as Helena Thokchom of NBA (-37 kg), Yumnam Dyna of PBA (-39 kg), Laishram Linda of PBA (-41 kg), Sarjubala Thangjam of PBA (-43 kg), Lanthuillu Rongmei of SRBA (-45 kg) seal top honour in their respective categories.

Lingjelthoibi of KACTL was able to win the -33 kg gold for girls born between 2016 and 2017 by defeating Kangjam Lanchenbi of MSBA while Wangambi Leimapokpam of PBA beat Jigi Thokchom of TUC for -25 kg category title for girls born between 2018 and 2019 .
