3rd Premier League : RAU open campaign with 2-0 win over IYFC, AIM hold SSU

Imphal, October 09 2025: Rising Athletic Union (RAU), Lairikyengbam Leikai launched their 3rd Premier League Campaign with a 2-0 win over Imphal Youth Football Club (IYFC) at SAI ground, Takyel.

Both the sides started cautiously and entered into the break goalless.

The goal drought ended two minutes into the second half with Leishishing Tallanao finding the target before Chanambam Yaikhomba doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute.

The scoreline remained unchanged till the final whistle despite IYFC trying to reduce the margin and RAU trying to add to their tally.

Later in the second ground, AIM, Khaibam rallied to hold SSU, Singjamei to a 1-1 draw.

SSU who edged past SGH in their league opener, broke the deadlock early in the 7 th minute through Ningombam Kabiraj but AIM drew level two minutes into the added time of the first half as Nongthombam Nenaldo made no mistake in beating the SSU custodian.

The second half saw the two sides searching for the difference but defence on both ends emerged on top to deny any alterations in the scoreline.
