169 Bn CRPF to organise football tournament at Chanung from Nov 7

Imphal, November 05 2026: The 169 Battalion CRPF will organise a football tournament at F/169 Bn CRPF, UNACCO School Ground, Chanung, from November 7 to 12, 2026 under the SPANDAN initiative of Khelo India, a flagship programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The tournament will be held in two age categories - Under-18 Years and 18-21 Years (Men's), with 16 teams in each category, making a total of 32 participating teams.

The tournament aims to promote sports culture, physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and healthy competition among local youth and provide a platform for talented young players to showcase their skills, dedication and team spirit.

Informing this in a press release, the 169 Bn CRPF invited football teams, local youth, residents and sports lovers of Chanung and adjoining areas to participate and encourage the players.

The event also reflects CRPF's commitment to strengthening its bond with the local population through positive engagement and community-oriented activities, fostering mutual trust, goodwill and harmony, it said.
