AMOFA, IYFC labour to wins in 2nd Premier League

Imphal, May 28 2025: AMOFA outscored IYFC 2-1 as AIM scraped past NISA 1-0 in Wednesday's action of the 2nd Premier League 2025-26 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Yumnam Harison and Hemam Samson were the heroes for AMOFA, each finding the net to secure their side's win.

Harison got AMOFA off to a dream start, opening the scoring just two minutes into the match with a clinical finish.

However, IYFC hit back swiftly, with Suraj Wangkhem restoring parity in the 11th minute.

The teams went into the break level at 1-1, setting up an intense second half.

After the interval, both sides pushed for a winner, but it was AMOFA who seized the initiative.

Samson proved decisive in the 63rd minute, slotting home to regain the lead and ultimately secure all three points for his team.

Meanwhile, AIM laboured to a narrow 1-0 victory over a stubborn NISA side, thanks to a late strike from Elangbom Joykishon.

The first half proved a cagey affair, with neither side able to break the deadlock.

After the break, the match remained fiercely contested, with both teams battling for control.

Just as it seemed the game was destined for a goalless draw, Joykishon stepped up in the 87th minute, coolly converting to snatch a dramatic late winner for AIM .
