18th Manipur State League NMFA, UPAA secure fourth win; TRAU end 4-game losing run

NMFA beat Imphal FA 2-0 and UPAA crushed YDO 7-2 to seal their fourth Group B wins in five matches in the 18th Manipur State League as TRAU ended their four-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over FC Kumbi today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

In the first Group B match of the day, Irengbam Indrajit scored each side of the break to earn NMFA a 2-0 win over Imphal FA .
The two sides started cautiously and the first half almost ended in a goalless draw but Irengbam Indrajit Singh scored two minutes into the added time to put NMFA ahead.
Irengbam Indrajit Singh was on the target again in the 53rd minute to help NMFA seal their fourth win in five matches that also included a 0-0 draw with UPAA .
TRAU end four game losing run
In the second match staged this afternoon, TRAU beat FC Kumbi by a slender 1-0 margin to end their four game losing streak in the Group B league competition.
The lone goal that sealed all three points for TRAU was scored by Ngashepam Bonison Singh in the 65th minute.
UPAA bounce back with 7-2 thrashing of YDO
UPAA sealed their fourth win and extended their unbeaten run to five games in the Group B league competition as they brushed aside YDO by 7-2 goals.
UPAA, who played out a goalless draw with NMFA in the previous match entered the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Konsam Angamba Meitei, who scored the opener in the 7th minute, before he completed his brace in the 51st minute to make it 2-0 .
UPAA were relentless in their attack and raced to a 4-0 lead with Ningombam Sanathoi Meetei (58') and Paringanba Yengkhom (62') netting a goal apiece.
YDO pulled back a goal in the 70th minute through Soubam Johnson Singh but UPAA retained the four goal advantage through Paringanba Yengkhom who scored his second in the 74th minute.
YDO managed to score another goal through Moirangthem Debaraj Singh in the 81st minute to make it 2-5 but Ningombam Sanathoi Meetei (90+1') and Mutum Dev Meitei (90+2') took their turns to score a goal apiece for UPAA in the stoppage time to complete the 7-2 thrashing of YDO .
