12th Manipur Veteran T-20 Tournament : YCC end group campaign with 6-wicket win over SNC

Imphal, February 23 2025: YCC, Wangkhei ended their Group A campaign in the 12th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament with a 6-wicket thrashing of SNC, Sangaiprou for the second win at Langthabal Public Ground.

SNC won the toss and raised 140/5 after electing to bat first this morning.

YCC then cruised to the winning 141/4 in 19.1 overs.

Thawai Chingtham smacked a 36-ball 51 for SNC as Romeschandra 27 and Khumanthem Ronnelkumar 9 remained unbeaten.

The innings saw L Everest pick two wickets (2/32) while G Sanjit, Loya and Shilananda claimed a wicket apiece for YCC.

In reply, L Everest 42 off 33 balls, Pritam Sharma 31 off 28 balls and Loya Meitei 23 off 15 balls gave YCC the momentum before Th Goroba and M Winkan scored identical 8 to take YCC to the target.

Thoudam Maison (2/20) and Th Bishorjit (2/28) of SNC shared the four wickets in this innings.

L Everest of YCC was eventually adjudged player of the match.

The Group C match between CHAMP, Khagempalli and YPHU, Lalambung staged later in the day was however abandoned due to rain forcing the two sides to share a point apiece.

CHAMP had earlier racked up 156/5 after winning the toss and YPHU were 41 for no loss when rain played spoilsport.
