4th Lt Col Robert TA Memorial badminton tourney concludes

Senapati, September 22 2025: 4th Edition of the Lt Col Robert TA Memorial Badminton Tournament, 2025 organised by the Indian Army under the aegis of Red Shield Division at Senapati district's Rikhumai Indoor Badminton Hall came to a close today.

The tournament saw an overwhelming participation of 349 players across 31 categories, cutting across age groups.

The tournament commemorates Lt Col Robert's legacy and pays rich tribute to the first soldier from the Maram community to join the Indian Army as an officer through the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) in 2004 .

The closing day of the tournament witnessed some of the best badminton action in the thrilling final matches.

Chingpai Rangnamei, wife of the late braveheart, graced the occasion as the guest of honour, while senior Indian Army officers felicitated the winners and runners-up.

Glimpses of Lt Col Robert TA's life were showcased in slides during the closing ceremony.

Pfoki Liruna claimed the singles title defeating Kalo Truman in the final.
