DFA Moirang 3rd Divn League : AKSA edge past NASA 3-2, SCYA thump SFAK 2-0

Imphal, August 22 2022: AKSA, Kwakta edged past NASA, Ngangkhalawai by 3-2 goals as SCYA, Terakhongsangbi thump SFAK, Keibul in today's league matches of the 2nd Late K Budhi Memorial 3rd Division Football League which kicked off yesterday at Kumbi playground.

In the Group B opening match, NASA and AKSA were neck and neck from the beginning and were 1-1 till the break.

AKSA were first to open the account with Md Eliyas finding the back of the NASA net early in the 2nd minute but NASA fought back and pulled level after 20 minutes when S Robert outran some AKSA defenders and scored from close range.

AKSA retained the lead after 38th minute as Arif Khan was on target before Abdul Sahid handed the team a two goal cushion with a goal in the 61st minute.

NASA rallied back and cut the deficit by 1 goal through M Sayonba in the 63rd minute but their effort to draw level did not yield any results as AKSA managed to stonewall later attempts with each to walk home 3-2 .

Later in the third match of the tournament (Group A), Th James (1') and Kh Rakesh (56') scored a goal each side of the break to earn SCYA a 2-0 win over SFAK.

Tomorrow, Ideal Club, Sunusiphai will play ELSA, Naransena in the second Group B league match.
