6th Thoubal District Boxing Championship 2026 underway

Thoubal, May 22 2026: 6th Thoubal District Boxing Championship 2026 organised by the Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association (THOUDABA) under the supervision of the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association (MABA) kicked off today at Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Community Hall, Nongpok Ingourok.

Around 75 athletes across various weight categories and age groups will vie for top honours in the 3-day event that will also serve as the selection trial for the district contingent who will participate in the State level competition.

The opening day saw MBA's Kh Lamnganba beat NIBA's Yambem Adesion 3-0 to reach Master Boys 2014-15 42 kg Category final.

In a semi-final bout for the Master Boys 2014-15 46 kg Category Th Lemba Meitei of MBA beat Salam Henary of NIBA to progress into the final as L Langamba of SBA defeated K Malemnganba of NIBA in a semi-final bout of the Master Boys 2014-15 gi 50 kg Category Lanchenbi Soibam of SBA meanwhile entered the Master Girls 2014-15 46 kg Category final by defeating Sh Nandeshwori of NIBA as Tarun Soibam of SBA beat compatriot L Rohenjit Singh to enter the Sub Junior Boys 40 kg final.

In a semi-final bout of Sub Junior Boys 46 kg Category event, Th Lemba of MBA got the better of L Lamnganba of SBA as Sh Rojit Singh of SBA beat compatriot Paikhomba Yumnamcha to advance to Sub Junior Boys 52 kg Category final.

Th Punsiba Luwang of MBA on the other hand got the better of W Paikhomba of SBA to enter the Sub Junior Boys 58 kg Category final.

In a semi-final bout of Junior Boys 52 kg Category Y Srinivash Singh of MBA prevailed over K Jeplin Singh of NIBA as MBA's Bogimayum Mustaque entered the Junior Boys 63 kg Category final by defeating compatriot Farhan Habib.
