Tamlennganbi dazzles with four medals at State Shooting Competition

Imphal, August 20 2025: Tamlennganbi Thounaojam emerged as a standout performer with a remarkable haul of four medals, as the 33rd All Manipur Shooting Competition reached its fourth day on Wednesday at Taothong Lamshang in Imphal West.

Representing the Imphal West District Rifle Association, Tamlennganbi demonstrated exceptional consistency across multiple age categories.

She secured gold medals in both the sub-youth women's and junior women's individual events, a bronze in the youth women's category, and another bronze in the senior women's individual event.

Also achieving a double medal victory was Khunjamayum Victor Meitei.

He claimed the top spot on the podium with a gold in the junior men's event and added a silver medal in the highly competitive youth men's category.

In the senior categories, Sylvia Loukrakpam (Manipur Rifle Association) dominated the women's individual event with a winning score of 357.00, while Sapam Chingkhei Hunba, also of the Manipur Rifle Association, took the men's individual title with a superb score of 359.00 .

The master men's category witnessed a thrillingly close contest, with Pangambam Kunjabihari (Imphal East DRA) edging out Laiphrak-pam Rajesh Singh (Imphal West DRA) by a single point, 356.00 to 355.00, to seize the gold.

Youth categories were fiercely contested.

Rajku-mari Sweety of The Blossom School Indoor Shooting Centre posted the highest score of the entire competition, a phenomenal 360.00, to win youth women's gold.

The youth men's title was won by Gurumayum Prithiviraj Sharma of the National Sports University with a score of 358.00.Other notable gold medal winners included Henthoiba Sapam (The Blossom School) in sub youth men and G Shyamkanhai Sharma (Imphal East DRA) in the senior master men's category.
