CISF registers record medal haul at World Police Games 2025

Imphal, July 20 2025:
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has registered its highest-ever sporting success, with a record 159 medals secured in the 2024-25 season, including a remarkable 66 medals at the World Police and Fire Games 2025 held in Birmingham, USA .
This milestone was celebrated at CISF Headquarters, New Delhi, where Director General CISF felicitated the medal winners in recognition of their outstanding international and national achievements.
According to CISF, key reforms behind this surge in performance include a six-fold rise in sports funding to Rs 6 crore, an increase in special diet allowances to 300 days a year, improved TA/DA for athletes, establishment of new gyms, and better injury management facilities.
For enhanced monitoring, an AIG-level officer has been assigned to oversee sports development, and a dedicated mountaineering team is being prepared to attempt a Mount Everest summit by 2026 .
To further boost its sports capabilities, CISF has launched its largest-ever recruitment drive, targeting the induction of 433 new athletes, including 229 women.
The drive, underway from 7 to 29 July across 14 centres, has attracted 12,868 applicants�among them, 350 international and 3,968 national medal winners.
The recruitment aims to establish 13 new teams in disciplines such as badminton, archery, fencing, cycling, rowing and pencak silat.
With an eye on Olympic success, the CISF will identify and support 'High Performance Athletes' with tailored international training, expert coaching, and specialised support staff including dietitians and physiotherapists.
