Coaches' Assn of YAS bids farewell to AS Pengmayong and Netrajit

Imphal, July 18 2025: Coaches' Association of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) Department today bade farewell to two coaches - AS Pengmayong and Maibam Netrajit in a simple function at Khuman Lampak.

AS Pengmayong, who joined YAS Department as a Physical Education Teacher in 1988 was promoted to the position of a football coach in 2018 .

She was further rose to the position of District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer from 2023 before getting retired this February.

Meanwhile, Maibam Netrajit retired as a handball coach of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department from 2021 before retiring in February this year.

He joined YAS as a Physical Education Teacher in 1997 .

The two coaches were presented mementos from the association during the farewell function held in the presence of Director of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS), Dr M Veto; president of Coaches' Association of YAS, L Meghabama and Assistant Director of YAS, L Anita.

Speaking at the occasion that was emotional to both the association and the retiring coaches, Director of YAS Dr M Veto said that the term farewell was a bit harsh and urged the duo to keep contributing towards the sporting cause as long as possible.
