Role of youth underscored as YPA gear up for 8th Senior Nat'l 6s Hockey C'ship

Imphal, June 15 2025: Manipur's sporting prowess and youth's responsibility in keeping it alive was underscored as uniforms were distributed to Nashik bound Young Pioneer Academy (YPA) for the 8th Senior National 6s Hockey Championship 2025 .

The 6-a-side indoor hockey tournament is due to begin on June 22 at Meena Tai'Thakre Stadium indoor hall in Nashik.

The uniform distribution programme ahead of the National championship was held today at Yonglan Leima Keithel community hall in the presence of former Up-Adhyaksh Kshetri Tama and others.

Speaking at the occasion, Kshetri Tama said youth should be very observant of Manipur's commanding stature in the field of games of sports.

Manipur, though a very small State, has been dominating Indian sports scenario over decades and youth should further join the cause and make Manipur more dominant, she said.

Lauding the spirit of youth from humble backgrounds for leading Manipur to such great heights, she also expressed that more dedicated youth, poor or rich, will emerge to keep the State's rich sporting legacy alive.

Further noting that Manipur is reeling under drug menace, she said that it should be our collective responsible to fight the issue.

She also wished the YPA men and women's teams who will be competing at the tournament.
