FCR grind out victory as SU, UDO share spoils in 2nd Premier League

Imphal, July 11 2025: FC Raengdai eked out a win, while SU and UDO played to a stalemate in Friday's 2nd Premier League clashes at SAI Ground, Takyel.

FC Raengdai pulled off a hard-fought 1-0 victory over RAU in a tightly contested match, with Yendrembam Sobha emerging as the match-winner.

After a frustrating first half with few clear-cut chances, Raengdai upped the tempo after the break and gradually gained control.

Their persistence paid off in the 60th minute when Sobha latched onto a precise pass amidst a crowded penalty area and slotted home to break the deadlock.

The game opened up thereafter, with both sides trading attacks in an end-to-end battle.

Raengdai struggled to extend their lead, while RAU squandered several promising opportunities to equalise.

In the end, Raengdai's resolute defending ensured they held on to claim all three points.

In the day's other fixture, SU and UDO played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in a match that ebbed and flowed until the final whistle.

Following a goalless first half, the game sprang to life after the interval.

SU struck first in the 55th minute through Sapam Bishorjit Meitei, who found the back of the net with a composed finish.

UDO responded with sustained pressure and were rewarded in the 84th minute when Salam Dhiren Meitei fired home to restore parity.

Despite late pushes from both sides, neither could find a winner, leaving the points fairly shared.
