WBAM rejoices as I Ritu Chanu makes it to National Wheelchair

Imphal, May 09 2026: The Wheelchair Basketball Association Manipur (WBAM) has expressed pride over the selection of Irengbam Ritu Chanu in the National women's team for 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball competition in 2026 Commonwealth Games to be hosted at Glasgow.

WBAM, in a press release, expressed happiness over the selection of the Nambol Irengbam Makha Leikai resident for the international competition.

Taking pride in the fast pace growth of the State athletes, WBAM also expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, including the present and former Chief Ministers, Governor, Directors of various key Departments for their immense support and contributions towards the movement.

Expressing hope that State players can scale more height if they are provided an indoor facility where the differently abled players can practice round the year safely, WBAM urged the Government to set up a dedicated Indoor Stadium for them.

WBAM also took note of the State's rising stature in the National Wheelchair Basketball arena and lauded some exceptionally talented players for finding themselves in the National team.
