AMCSTA Tennis Tournament : Health Department-A beat Manipur Secretariat to seal team title

Imphal, May 09 2025: Health Department-A were crowned the team champions in the All Manipur Civil Service Tennis Tournament 2025 that began today at Officers' Club, Lamphelpat under the aegis of the All Manipur Civil ServiceTennis Association (AMCSTA).

Altogether 6 teams competed for the coveted team title and the Health Department-A represented by Dr Thoudam Rivaskar, Dr N Sunny and L Binoy edged Manipur Secretariat team comprising T Pamei, Md Azad Khan and T Chinthangkhomba by 2-1 margin to earn the top honour, said AMCSTA in a press release.

The opening day also saw N Mickey Pao, T Chingthangkhomba, N Robindro, Dr E Nelson, Md Azad Khan, Th Shantikumar and Thoudam Lanjoy securing first round victories and entering second round in the men's singles competition.

Dr S Biju also made it to the second round courtesy of a walkover win, it said.

The men's double competition will kickstart tomorrow along with the remaining matches of the singles competition, it added.

This year's edition of the tournament is significant considering the fact that 9 best players from the tournament will be selected to represent the Government of Manipur in the forthcoming All India Civil Services Tennis Tournament, it added.
