Thiyam Sinthoiba clinches two medals at South Asian Karate Championship

Imphal, July 06 2025: Manipur's Thiyam Sinthoiba has won India two medals including a gold and a silver as Pratik Dahal won a bronze at the 9th South Asian Karate & SAKF Youth Championship that concluded today in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Sinthoiba won the gold medal in the U-12 boys' -45 kg kumite event and the silver medal in the individual kata event.

He is the son of Thiyam Somorendro and Thiyam Ratana of Taobungkhok Makha Leikai.

Pratik Dahal in the meantime bagged the bronze medal in the U-14 boys' -50 kg category kumite competition.

Pratik is the son of Tiken Dahal and Pabitra Devi of Leimakhong.

Both the young karatekas train under Renshi Soibam Bindeshori Chanu at ISKF Patrol Dojo under the supervision of Kyoshi Mutum Bankim Singh.

The championship was held from July 2 .
