YC, LMYVA, ESU cruise at State Basketball C'ship

Imphal, August 05 2025: Day 5 of the 38th State Sub-Junior and 15th Junior Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls witnessed a string of dominant performances as Youth Club, LMYVA, and ESU recorded emphatic victories in sub-junior boys' fixtures at Brahmapur Nahabam, Bamon Leikai.

In a lopsided clash, Youth Club outclassed YOSC 64-37.Youth Club stormed to a commanding lead in the first quarter (18-2) and maintained their momentum with consistent scoring in subsequent periods (8-6, 19-17, 19-12) .

YOSC, despite a spirited fightback in the third quarter, failed to close the gap.

Meanwhile, LMYVA registered a comfortable 28-12 win over ESU .

The match saw LMYVA take early control with an 8-7 first-quarter lead, followed by a strong 11-5 second quarter.

Their defence was watertight in the second half, shutting out ESU completely in the third and fourth quarters (4-0, 5-0) .

Later, Youth Club continued their unbeaten run in the junior boys' event with a 35-27 triumph over TOBBA.

Taking early control of the match, Youth Club raced to a 7-2 lead in the opening quarter.

They further extended their advantage with a commanding 15-7 second-quarter performance, followed by an 11-10 edge in the third.

Although TOBBA managed an 8-2 response in the final quarter, it proved too little too late, as Youth Club secured a well-deserved win.

In the sub-junior girls' category, ESU displayed dominant form against YOSC, clinching a 37-11 win.

ESU took a 9-2 lead in the first quarter and sustained their momentum throughout.

With consistent scoring of 6-5 and 9-3 in the following quarters, ESU comfortably sealed the match.
