3rd Maipakpi Memorial Trophy : Football Lovers Manipur, Tombi FC win to complete semi-final line up

Imphal, May 27 2025: The semi-final line up of the 3rd Maipakpi Memorial Trophy State Level 9-A-Side Football Tournament was completed today with Football Lovers Manipur and Tombi FC, Lilong securing quarterfinal victories.

In the third quarterfinal match, Tombi FC, Lilong beat Ngariyan FC 5-3 after a penalty shootout following a 1-1 regulation time draw.

Rishi put Tombi FC ahead after 12 minutes only to be equalised by Ngariyan FC in the 19th minute through Mustofa.

With the two sides failing to find the winner in the remainder of the game, the match was decided by penalty shoot-out where Akash, Ricky, Rohen and Rishi earned Tombi FC a 5-3 .

For Ngariyan FC only Zahir and Raju found the target in the shoot-out.

Meanwhile in the last quarterfinal match, Naocha scored twice to set up the 4-0 win for Football Lovers Manipur against Khurai FC.

Dany earned Football Lovers Manipur the lead after 13 minutes before Naocha scored back to back in the 25th and the 27th minutes to make it 3-0 and Amitkumar rounded off the scoring in the 36th minute.

Notably, Parash FC and 7-Star Heirok had already booked semi-final tickets earlier.
