Imphal, October 15 2025: Hosts Sikkim were 265/7 at stumps on Day 1 against Manipur in a Ranji Trophy Plate Group match at SICA ground, Rangpo in Sikkim.

Manipur skipper Konthoujam Bishworjit and Naesh Hussain combined well to inflict early damage on Sikkim, who won the toss and opted to bat first, by sharing 5 wickets to reduce them to 92/5 in 31.5 overs.

But, Sikkim made their way back into the game as Kranthi Kumar and Gurinder Singh resurrected the innings by forging a 149 run partnership for the 6th wicket.

RK Rex however caught and bowled Gurinder on 83 to break the partnership and reduce Sikkim to 241/6 after 84.3 overs.

Bishworjit, who had dismissed openers Nilesh Lamichaney 12 and Arun 12 before removing AB Rajera 16, returned to action and completed his haul of 4 wickets by trapping Kranthi Kumar lbw out on 75 .

Palzor 7 and Lee Yong Lepcha 11 were unbeaten as the day was called.
