Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament Blue Hawk defeat YWC by 9 runs

Imphal, January 12 2018: Blue Hawk, Khurai beat YWC, Langthabal by just 9 runs in today's first match of the Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Langthabal Sporting Club under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association.

Blue Hawk won the toss and opted to bat first posted a total of 108 runs.

Samson who faced 34 balls scored 24 runs and Lokeshwor (22 runs off 14 balls) were highest scorers for the Khurai side.

Sanatomba and Rahul also contributed 30 runs.

Prakash and Priyokumar of the host team claimed three wickets each while Kishan took 2 wickets giving 21runs in 4 over.

In reply, YWC went down at 95 runs for all wickets down in 20 overs.

The bowling front of the Khurai side were very strong today and took wickets in regular interval.

Sandeep claimed 3 wickets offering 23 runs in 4 overs.

Rahul, Samson and Sanatomba also took 2 wickets each.

Bingson who scored 16 runs off 18 balls was the highest scorer for YWC.

Samson of Blue Hawk who scored 27 runs and dismissed three batsmen was declared man of the match.

In second match of the day, CRAU, Khamnam Bazar defeated PCC Mayai Koibi by 7 wickets.

PCC Mayai Koibi won the toss and elected to bat first.

PCC went down to 96 runs for 10 in 19.1 overs.

Gibson who made 42 runs off 35 balls was the key player for PCC.

Ajay of CRAU dismissed 4 men offering just 12 runs in 4 overs while Manglem also claimed three wickets in 4 overs.

CRAU reached the target in 17.5 overs with 4 wickets down.

Amitkumar who stood to the last ball of the inning made 27 off 40 balls.

Manglem also contributed 17 runs out of 99 they made in reply.

Premchand and Ranjan of PCC claimed one wicket each in this inning.

Ajay who claimed was named man of the match.

TRAU, Kwakeithel will face SCCC in the first match (group A) tomorrow at Langthabal Public Ground while PSC will take on YWC (P) in the 11th match of the tournament at the same ground.
