14th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament kicks off

Imphal, October 11 2025: Ragailong Soccer XI won 2-1 against GYA, Gaidimjang as the 14th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament kicked off at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium this morning.

The 36-team tournament organised by Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA) was formally opened in the presence of Thangjam Arunkumar, MLA Wangkhei AC; Naorem Praveen, Secretary, YAS; Hannah Kahmei, DC Thoubal district; Pooja Elangbam, DC Bishnupur district; Mercina R Panmei, Commissioner of Taxes; Dr Mayengbam Veto, Director YAS; G Aguilung, president, ZFA and Dinganglung Gangmei, MLA Nungba AC as presidium members.

The opening match saw Neilangam Panmei handing GYA the lead in the 29th minute but Phijam Vikash Singh equalised it for Ragailong Soccer-XI before scoring the winner in the 55th minute.

Next matches are scheduled on October 13
1. TKYC, Tuasaeng vs SKYO, Sangaiprou (Gp L) from 7 am
2. KFA, Kakhulong vs HYC, Hidakshung from 8.30 am (Gp A)
3. SKYC, Sawombung vs Kuilong FC from 12.30 pm (Gp K)
4. KRYC, Koirengei vs MKYC, Mahabali from 2 pm (Gp B) .
