10th State Level Yoga Olympiad concludes

Imphal, May 09 2025: The 10th edition of State Level Yoga Olympiad organised by the Department of Education (S) was brought to a close today at Johnstone Higher Secondary School.

The closing function of the State level competition that began on May 7 was attended by N Praveen, Secretary Department of Education (S); Ng Bhogendro, Director of Education (S); Dangmei Manglem, Additional Director of Education (S/Hills); Khumukcham Bisheshor, Additional Director of Education (S/Valley) among others as presidium members.

Speaking as the chief guest, N Praveen highlighted the benefits of practising yoga.

He also took note of the State's prowess when it comes to sports and Yoga.

Maintaining that India can dominate medal tally if events like Yoga, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho are included in Olympic Games, he also expressed confidence that these disciplines have a strong possibility of becoming Olympic events soon.

As many as 150 athletes from various districts competed for top honours in 5 different events.

The winners and other participants were presented with trophies and certificates.
