Atom, Bikash, Veronica cruise in Ibetombi badminton quarters as men's & women's semis set

The stage is set for the men's and women's singles semifinals as the 2nd Thongam Ibetombi Devi Memorial Non-State Players' Badminton Championships 2025 entered its third day on Friday.
In the men's singles quarterfinals, Atom Powerman Singh asserted his dominance with a 21-12, 21-17 victory over Rajkumar Henry Singh.
Mayanglambam Bikash Singh delivered an equally impressive performance, defeating Sarangthem Joychandra Singh 21-14, 21-7 .
Kalenyai Khwairakpam secured a place in the semifinals with a solid 21-12, 21-17 win against Elangbam Lamnganba Singh.
Meanwhile, Maisnam Roshan Singh advanced after a commanding 21-9 opening set, with his opponent Taveio retiring early in the second set at 21-3 .
The women's singles quarterfinals saw fierce competition.
Khumanthem Shellina edged past Sabina in straight sets, 21-16, 21-18 .
Christy Rone showed fine form, dispatching Moirangthem Christina 21-13, 21-9 .
Lezho Nai clinched a hard-fought victory over Florence in three sets, 21-10, 15-21, 21-15, while Veronica Prity breezed past Naorem with a comfortable 21-10, 21-10 win.

Boys' Singles Under-15: RK Bidyananda, Thoihenba Phurailatpam, Mahesh Sanasam, and Prince Moirangthem progressed with strong performances.
Boys' Singles Under-13: Irabanta Chungkham, Rajkumar Rendish Singh, Longjam Biyas Meetei, and Jupiter Karam advanced to the semifinals.
Girls' Singles Under-13 and U15: Romibala Sarungbam remained unbeaten in both U13 and U15 categories, joined by Lingjel Ningthoukhongjam, Laipubam Hesita, Huirom Linthoi, Suhana Gupta, and Biksiya Huidrom in the next round.
Boys' Singles Under-19 and U17: Players like Thokchom Kamaljit, Roshan Ingudam, Suraj Khundrakpam, and Moirangthem Kelvin Singh impressed with straight-set victories.
Men's Singles (35+ and 40+): Veteran players such as Pfokrehrii Paonam, Ngang-bam Chandrasekhar, M Joy, Oinam Dhanabir Singh, and Naorem Saranjit Singh advanced with skillful displays.
Boys' Doubles (U13, U15, U19): Duos including Akash Akoijam & Lourembam Henthoisana, Hidangbam Bishal Sharma & Longjam Biyas, and Mahesh Sanasam & Prince Moirangthem cruised into the semifinals.
Men's Doubles (35+ and 40+): Several experienced pairs, including Debabrata Konsam & Longjam Premjit and Leihaothabam Anilkumar Sharma & Nongmaithem Oinam Premkanta, moved ahead following convincing wins.
