Black Watch PC, Thangmeiband Youth PC eke out narrow wins to book semi-final ticket

Imphal, November 02 2025: Black Watch PC, Babupara and Thangmeiband Youth PC scored hardfought quarterfinal wins to book their semi-final tickets in the ongoing 38 th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament.

In the first quarterfinal match of the tournament, Black Watch PC edged out X-Polo Club, Wangkhei by 9-8 goals in a keenly contested match that was extended to fifth chukker after the two sides were locked at 8-8 after four chukkers.

M Chaoba scored four goals including the winner to help Black Watch PC seal the victory as Th Nongpoknganba scored thrice, and L Rohit and K Yaikhomba scored a goal apiece.

For X-Polo Club, L Atangba scored five goals across the last three chukkers but his efforts went in vain as luck favoured their rivals.

L Kokeshwor, Th Jacob and Th Santosh also scored a goal apiece for the team.

Thangmeiband Youth PC also edged out MPSC-A 5-4 in a quarterfinal thriller that was extended to fifth chukker to decide the winners following a 4-4 draw till the end of the four chukkers.

MPSC were leading by 4-2 goals after two chukkers as S Bimol scored thrice and Th Ranjit scored the other.

But S Saolin who scored both the opening goals went on to score another goal in the third chukker before W Abothe drew level with another goal in the fourth chukker.

S Saolin then scored his fourth and the winner of the game barely one minute into the fifth chukker.
