Imphal, September 02 2025: The DC Chandel Trophy 1st Division FootballToumament2025 got underway under the aegis of the District Sports Association Chandel at Sports Complex, Chandel Christian.

The opening day saw two matches end in draws with the teams producing gritty performances.

In the opening match, Damjol YC found the lead early but Chandel Christian YC found the equaliser early into the second half to settle the game in a 1-1 draw.

Rengringstone opened the scoring in the 11th minute for Damjol YC before Kolni hit the leveller for Chandel Christian YC in the 46th minute.

The second match between Chakpikarong YC and Japhou YC saw goals galore but they had to split points as they remained locked at 5-5 draw till the final whistle.

The two sides were quick off the block as Oliver (7') and Ningphahman (16') scored back to back for Japhou YC before Kanlun (17') and Angshingam (23') took their turns to put Chakpikarong YC back into the game.

After the restart, Chakpikarong YC turned the game on their head as Angshingam found the target again in the 50th minute but Ningphahman of Japhou YC also scored his second to make the scoreline read 3-3.Lael of Japhou YC then retained the lead for Japhou YC at the stroke of the hour mark but Chakpikarong YC returned to the game with Thumtha scoring the fourth goal 6 minutes later.

Lael was at it again in the 85th minute to put Japhou YC ahead before his compatriot Ethrangam fumbled to score an own goal 2 minutes into the stoppage time.
