CRPF concludes NSD celebration with series of events

Imphal, August 31 2025: National Sports Day (NSD) celebration held at Group Centre CRPF, Langjing; 86 Bn CRPF-Lamphelpat and 106 Bn, Mongsangei all came to an end today after a series of events.

The celebration held in commemoration of the centenary birth anniversary of the legendary Hockey icon Major Dhyan Chand at Group Centre Langjing started with a NSD pledge administered by IGP, M&N Sector before he briefed the importance of the observance.

Padmadshri N Kunjarani, Comdt, CRPF, who herself was a decorated weightlifter during her prime, was also honoured by the IGP and DIGP, GC Imphal, said Dy Comdt of GC CRPF in a press note.

Fit India pledge taking ceremony, yoga activities, cricket match, football and Sundays on Cycle were conducted during the three day celebration wherein all the senior officers, force personnel participated, it said.

The participants showcased excellent sporting skills and true sense of discipline and teamwork and the winners were feted with trophies, it added.

The similar celebration at 86 Bn CRPF also concluded with a Cycle Rally in the Imphal City area today following a series of events like football, volleyball, tug of war, said Second in Command 86 Bn CRPF in a press note.

The event was organised under the aegis of the IG M&N Sector and Commandant 86 Bn CRPF, it said.

Officers and personnel of the battalion participated in the cycle rally and other other events, it said.

The commemoratory celebration was also held at Mongsangei by the 109 Bn CRPF under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF and concluded today with a cycle rally flagged off by Commandant of the battalion.

The event was participated by officers and personnel of the unit promoting fitness, sportsmanship, discipline and team spirit among force personnel and also spreading the awareness on the importance of adopting sports and physical activities in daily life, said a statement issued by the battalion.
