YLK, IMC claim senior men and women's handball titles

Imphal, July 29 2026: Hosts YLK, Chingarel and IMC, Thoubal emerged as the men and women's champions of the 48th State Level Senior Handball Tournament 2026 hosted by YLK .

YLK won the men's title by beating KVWA 24-22 in a keenly contested final encounter this afternoon.

A Bikramjit shone with 11 goals for the winners as L Beckham added 4 goals.

E Priyo and Th Abhijit managed 3 goals apiece for the winners while L Hemba (2) and Sharukhan (1) contributed 3 goals.

For KVWA, A Premson top-scored with 9 goals as Ksh Dayananda and Roshan netted 3 goals apiece; Samuel, Sitaljit and Yaikhomba netted 2 goals apiece and Yaiphaba added one.

In the women's final staged earlier, IMC rode on leading performances from Th Anjubala (12 goals) and O Anjali (9 goals) to seal a 25-17 win over YLK.

T Ranju and Th Roshibala also contributed 4 goals each to set up the victory for IMC as Y Monika (6 goals) and Th Bimolata (4 goals) led the scoring for YLK .

N Levia meanwhile contributed 3 goals for YLK as N Sophiya and N Aliya registered 2 goals apiece.
