Huidrom Bhumeshwori bags silver at National Inter State Athletics C'ship

Imphal, August 25 2025: Manipur's Huidrom Bhumeshwori won a silver medal at the National Inter State Athletics Championship that was held from August 20 to 24 at Chennai under the supervision of the Athletics Federation of India.

Bhumeshwori won the silver medal in the 800 m run with a time of 2 minutes 4.44 seconds on August 23 .

Haryana's Pooja clinched the gold medal with the best time of 2:02.27 as Chhattisgarh's Thota Sankeertana settled for the bronze medal with a time of 2:04.56 .

Bhumeshwori is the youngest child of late Huidrom Basanta and Huidrom ongbi Mangi Devi of Huidrom Awang Leikai, Imphal East.

She recently won a silver medal for Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in the same competition at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze 2025 held in Odisha.

She ran 2:06.96 (two minutes; 6.96 seconds) to finish second and claim the silver medal as Punjab's Amandeep Kaur bagged the gold medal taking 2:04.31 .

Thota Sankeertana of Chhattisgarh clinched the bronze medal with a time of 2:07.17 .

Bhumeshwori had also won a gold medal at the Indian Grand Prix-1 in March this year.
