Manipur wind up Khelo India Water Sports Festival campaign with 2 bronze medals

Imphal, August 23 2025: Manipur Canoeing and Kayaking team ended the Khelo India Water Sports Festival campaign with 2 bronze medals.

A strong contingent of 20 athletes led by 5 officials represented Manipur at the Khelo India Water Sports Festival that began on August 21 in Srinagar.

Yumnam Chengloulembi Devi won a bronze medal in the women's 1000 m single scull competition with a time of 4 minutes 2.6 seconds.

Meanwhile the other bronze medal was claimed by Ningthoujam Nganba, Laiphrakpam Sanatomba, Lanthoiba and Nelson in the K4 500 m event who posted the third best time of 1:32.69 (1 minute 32.69 seconds) .

The State team were led by Takhellambam Dushanta as Chef de Mission and RK Shakhensana as the nodal officer, Canoeing and Kayaking coaches Khoisnam Sunita, Kangjam Santoshbanta and Rowing coach Kh Indira.
