State Level Subroto Cup : Kakching, Bishnupur enjoy second victories in U-17 boys tournament

Imphal, June 21 2024: Kakching HSS suffered a 1-2 loss to Savio HSS, Ukhrul but bounced back to defeat Khongjom Standard ES, Thoubal 10-0 for their second Group A victory in the ongoing 63rd State Level Subroto Cup Tournament for U-17 boys at Lanjing Achouba Turf.

In the first match of the day, Sethroryo (31') and Thotmaring (51') scored to help the Ukhrul school edged past the Kakching side 2-1.The lone goal for Kakching HSS was scored by O Francis in the 39th minute.

In a Group B encounter, ASUFII Christian School (ACS), Senapati held St Peter's HSS, Chandel to a 1-1 draw.

W Abinash scored the equaliser for ACS in the 47th minute after the Chandel side took the lead in the 15th minute through W Chavanhrin.

In another Group B clash, CT HSS, Imphal West drubbed Emmanuel English Academy, Imphal East by 6-0 goals thanks to four goals from N Diamond (5', 16', 25', 34') .

W Alex (28') and E Airish (50') also contributed a goal apiece in CT HSS's victory.

In the first afternoon Group A match, Kakching HSS rode on a treble from O Francis (11', 35', 51') and doubles from M Beichung (37', 56') and Ch Regan (15', 59') to overwhelm Khongjom Standard ES .

Th Aditya (9'), L Rohit (17') and M Robin (27') also found their names on the scoresheet in this one sided encounter.

In the last Group A match of the day, Bishnupur handed Ukhrul district team a 2-0 defeat as M Manithoiba scored a goal apiece each side of the break (24', 63') .

Ukhrul register two comprehensive wins in U-15 boys tournament

Meanwhile in the U-15 boys tournament being underway at SAI Takyel ground, Ukhrul district team pulled off two big wins today having lost the opening group (A) match yesterday.

Ukhrul opened their winning account with a 5-0 thrashing of Kakching team thanks to a treble from Y Raihing (34', 36', 47') and a goal apiece contributed by T Vairu (39') and Th Awungshi (42') .

They carried forward their winning momentum to overwhelm Kamjong by 7-0 goals later in the day.

Y Raihing starred yet again in this match to net another treble (15', 36', 53') .

In the second match of the day (Group B), Mt Zion SSS defeated St Paul's HS 3-1 thanks to a double from Sourav (43', (60+2') .

In the last match of the day (Group A), Utlou Govt HS representing Bishnupur district demolished Kakching Public School 10-0 as Bruce Lee (30+1', 40') and N Bipin (48', 55') led the scoring with doubles.
