MPSC to lock horns with SCYC for Senior Women's Volleyball title

Imphal, September 19 2025: Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) will lock horns with SCYC, Senjam Chirang in the title clash of the 49th Senior Women's Volleyball Tournament on September 23.MPSC defeated KYLSC, Kachikhul by 3-2 sets in the first semi-final match today before SCYC outlasted SDVA by 3-1 sets in the other semi-final match to complete the final lineup.

MPSC slumped in the first two keenly contested sets but successfully redeemed themselves in the following sets to come out 25-27, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-19 winners at the end.

SCYC meanwhile fell in the third set after a close start and clawed their way back in the fourth set to seal the game 25-20, 28-26, 20-25, 26-24 .

The final match is slated for September 23 from 2 pm.

The 24th edition of the Sub-Junior Boys Volleyball Tournament also began today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex with 12 teams clubbed into four groups participating in it.

In the tourney opener (Group B), YPC, Ishok beat PASI, Kamjong 25-23, 25-12 before AMIMYDO, Mayang Imphal beat DVA, Thoubal 25-22, 25-23 in a Group A opening match.

UNT, Top Siphai meanwhile beat NYVA, Naorem 25-22, 25-23 in the Group D opening match staged later as HVA, Heigrujam overcame PVA .

Poiirabi 25-15, 23-25, 18-16 in another Group D match.
