5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy 2025-26 : YAL upset THAU by 51 runs to finish Group F toppers

YAL, Thoubal Leishangthem stunned THAU, Thangmeiband by 51 runs to top Group F in the 5 th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy 2025-26 today at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong.
YAL, coming off from back to back wins against Al-Ameen, Lilong and CCK, Khongman, raised 174 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 27 overs and restricted THAU to 123/9 in response to go top of the table and assured themselves a place in the next round.
Asked to bat first, YAL had a flourishing start with Punsiba Kh 44 off 49 balls and Bikash 49 not out off 74 stitching together 103 runs for the first wicket before Alvas Makakmayum contributed 17 runs off 17 balls.
Moirangthem Paikhomba (3/18) was the pick of the THAU bowlers in the first innings, despite the team conceding a staggering 59 extras.
Purujit Mutum (1/19), M Pibaren (1/16), and Lanchenba Khundrakpam (1/19) also chipped in with a wicket apiece for THAU managed only 123 runs for 9 wickets in the chase, with Tonthoi (2/25), Punsiba Kh (2/21), and Bikash (2/26) spearheading YAL's economical bowling attack.
Austin Khundrakpam 22 off 40 was the highest run getter for THAU followed by M Pibaren 13 and Purujit Maibam 10 off 30 balls.
Bikash was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, PTRC, Patsoi got the better of TCMDC, Thongju by 6 wickets for the third win in four games and to finish Group C runners up behind KSDO, who sealed four of four wins.
Thangjam Priyokumar (4/ 23) and Priyojit Thongam (3/ 8) shared a bulk of 7 wickets for PTRC who chose to field first to dismiss TCMDC for 76 runs in 23.2 overs before Priyojit 24 off 20 balls and Ghoutam Chingangbam 24 not out off 21 balls sealed the victory in 16.3 overs.
Priyojit was eventually declared man of the match.
At Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, SDO, Keirao Makting thrashed ESU, Wangkhei by 107 runs to end their Group A campaign with a win.
The day also saw TRAU, Kwakeithel thump CYSA, Khangabok by 5 wickets to finish Group B runners up (3 wins in four matches).
TRAU dismissed toss winners CYSA for 75 runs in 19.1 overs riding on Pukhrambam Poireinganba (3/8), Moirangthem Ringku (2/19), Khundrakpam Silheiba (2/14) and Athoiba Loitongbam (2/5) before Keisham Yaikhomba's 36 steered the team to winning 77/5 in 13.1 overs.
