Manipur storm into 3rd NECDC Senior Men's Inter-State Friendship Tournament

Manipur hammered Mizoram by 202 runs to storm into the 3rd NECDC Senior Men's Inter-State Friendship Tournament being hosted by Nagaland in Dimapur.
Manipur having beaten Arunachal Pradesh by 100 runs in the Group A opening match, racked up a commanding total of 290 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 40 overs after opting to bat first at Sovima Cricket Ground and bowled out Mizoram for just 88 runs in 25.1 overs to seal the huge win.
Pheiroijam Jotin who hit a ton in the previous match, carried forward his momentum to topscore for Manipur with a 51-ball 68 today as Rajkumar Rex (59 off 24; 1 four and 8 sixes) and Pukhrambam Prafullomani (57 off 51 balls; 10 fours) too struck half centuries.
Naveen Gurung (2/30) and G Lalbiakvela (2/52) shared four wickets for Mizoram in this innings as Lalrempuia, Moses Ramhlunmawia and Johan Lalbiakkima picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, Mizoram were bundled out for 88 runs in 25.1 overs as Mutum Swabhiman dazzled with a three wicket haul (3/27 in 8 overs) and five others- Ph Jotin (1/15), Yumnam Chingkheinganba (1/14), Chingakham Bidash (1/13), Ngariyanbam Johnson (1/3) and Lamabam Ajay (1/0) chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Johan Lalbiakkima emerged the highest run getter for Mizoram with 22 runs off 21 balls to his name followed by Saidingliana Sailo 17 off 38 balls, Naib Rai 12 off 38 balls and Lalrempuia 12 off 6 balls.
Pheiroijam Jotin was yet again adjudged man of the match.
