5th K Babu Memorial Super Division Football League : Jahed's treble in vain as AKSA rally to hold SYC in tourney opener

Imphal, May 11 2025: The 5th edition of Keisham Babu Memorial Super Division Football League 2024-25 kicked off today at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School ground with the participation of 6-teams clubbed into two groups.

AKSA, Kwakta; SYC, Sagang and ELSA, Naranseina are clubbed in Group A while MARD, Moirang; KNK, Keibul and PYDA, Kwakta are drawn in Group B .

In the opening match of the tournament that was witnessed by around 2000 spectators, Y Jahed scored thrice for SYC.

His effort however went in vain as AKSA fought back in the second half to draw 3-3 .

SYC got off to a blistering start as Y Jahed scored back to back goals in the 2nd and the 5th minutes.

Musha Khan pulled back a goal for AKSA in the 15th minute but Jahed made sure that SYC maintained a two goal advantage till the break by adding his third in the 33rd minute.

After the restart, AKSA kept pressing and reduced the gap by just 1 goal when Md Tahir scored in the 49th minute before Sair Ahamed drew level in the 74th minute taking advantage of their consistent effort and deteriorating SYC defence towards the close KNK will play MARD in the Group B opener tomorrow.

The match starts at 2 pm .
