Veteran Cricket NAPSA open campaign with 3-wicket win over YUCC

Imphal, December 09 2025: NAPSA, Kha Imphal kickstarted its Group A campaign in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament with a 3-wicket win over YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai at Langthabal Public Ground today.

YUCC raised a competitive total of 176 runs for 3 wickets in 30 overs after electing to bat first but NAPSA chased down the target in 28.1 overs with 3 wickets left to spare.

Bidison starred with a 99-ball 98 for YUCC in the first innings before Risk scored an unbeaten 44 off 43 balls to guide YUCC to 176 .

Ibobi picked two wickets (2/30) for NAPSA in the first innings before Rishikanta quicfired 61 off 39 balls to play a key role in boosting the chase despite Nishikanta (3/29), Manikumar (2/38) and Raju (2/31) sharing 7 wickets for YUCC.

Gobin 21 off 15, Simon 19 off 13, Sudesh 18 off 31 and Somorendro 11 off 15 also made double digit scores for NAPSA before Ibobi 7 and Ratan 9 produced an unbeaten 8th wicket stand to seal the victory.

Rishikanta of NAPSA was adjudged player of the match.

YPHU-Nongin will play YPHU-Warrior in a Group B league match tomorrow at the same venue.
