YWC-L, MPSC win as 16th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2026-27 kicks off

Imphal, May 09 2026: The Young Welfare Club, Langthabal (YWC-L) and Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) secured identical 1-0 wins as the 16th AMFA Senior Women's Football league 2026-27 kicked off today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

In the opening (Group A) match of the 8-team tournament, YWC-L beat Eastern Sporting Union (ESU), Wangkhei Palace Compound 1-0 thanks to Sorokhaibam Silky's 23rd minutes strike.

In another Group A match, Kshetrimayum Naocha Devi scored in the 36th minute to hand MPSC a 1-0 win over United Pukhao Sports Association (UPSA) .

YWC-Th will play ICSA in the Group B opener tomorrow from 1 pm before KRYPHSA play MUFA in another Group B match later in the day.
