2nd Premier League : FC Raengdai, ABA victorious as WAFA hold RAU to 1-1 draw

Imphal, July 06 2025: FC Raengdai and Athletic Brother's Association (ABA), Kshetrigao emerged victorious in today's matches of the ongoing 2nd Premier League as Wangoi Football Association (WAFA), Wangoi and Rising Athletic Union (RAU), Lairikyengbam Leikai shared a point apiece following 1-1 draw.

In today's first match staged at SAI ground, Takyel, FC Raengdai prevailed 3-lover Angtha FC .

The two sides entered the break goalless but FC Raengdai went ahead after 61 minutes as Hemam Bijio, who subbed in for Yendrembam Sobha found the target.

Laishram Bikramjit doubled the advantage for FC Raengdai after 83 minutes before Angtha FC pulled back a goal three minutes later through substitute Wangkhem Loyangamba.

Shoraisham Sagar however made sure that FC Raengdai walked home with two goal advantage by adding the team's third one minute into the stoppage time.

In the second match staged later at the same venue, M Isaya scored twice to help ABA edge past Southern Sporting Union (SSU) 2-1 .

Isaya put ABA in the front early in the 5th minute before adding his second in the 44th minute, a minute after SSU drew level off a penalty converted by Sorokhaibam Amitkumar.

The second half saw SSU fighting to equalise the margin while ABA kept pressing to add to their lead.

Their efforts however did not yield any result and eventually the game ended 2-1 in favour of the Kshetrigao team.

Later in the evening, WAFA and RAU played out a 1-1 draw.

Chirom Shinivash earned WAFA a 1-0 first half lead with a 13th minute strike but RAU fought back in the second half and cancelled out the lead through Maisnam Arbison in the 75th minute.
