MSL : ESU thump NACO 2-0 for fifth straight win, go Group A second

Imphal, February 06 2026: ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound thumped NACO, Nambul Mapal by 2-0 goals for the fifth Group A win on the trot in the 18th Manipur State League being underway at Artificial Turf Ground.

With the fifth win this morning, ESU are second on the same 15 points behind USA, Khurai who has also registered five straight wins but enjoy superior goal difference.

ESU, who edged 2-1 past Rahee UC in the previous match for the fourth successive win, went ahead after 25 minutes today courtesy of Taj Khan's beautiful finish before Pukhrambam Johnson doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute.

ESU concentrated more in defending their lead in the later stage of the game while NACO made frantic efforts to reduce the margin.

NACO's hard work was however met with stiff opposition from strong ESU defenders and eventually ESU walked away as 2-0 winners.

It was the fourth loss in five games for NACO, who ended their three game losing run in the previous match by handing FC Raengdai a 2-1 defeat.
