2nd Premier League: SU off to winning start, beat ASUFII FA 2-0

Imphal, May 05 2025: Sagolband United (SU) got off to a winning start in the 2nd Premier League Group B as they beat ASUFII FA by 2-0 goals today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

SU enjoyed better of the possession and scoring chances in both the halves and came out 2-0 winners courtesy of a stoppage time goal.

SU were into action from the word go and tease ASUFII FA defence who did not yield easily until Thongam Lenin found the breakthrough after 24 minutes to earn SU a 1-0 first half lead.

ASUFII beefed up their defence in the second half and toiled hard to draw level while SU kept looking for their chance to double the advantage.

Having cancelled out one another for a major portion of time, SU found their second deep three minutes into the 9-minute stoppage time through RS Jlcis and sealed the 2-0 win.

WAFA will play IYFC in the next match (Group A) tomorrow at the same venue.
