Imphal, September 02 2025: The 10-day Workshop on Ta-Khousaba organised by the Bishnupur District Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India came to a close at the training hall of the association at Nambol, Kakyai this afternoon.

The closing function was attended by Nongthombam Noren, secretary, Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Kongpal Sajor Leikai; Shantikumar Luwangcha, president Bishnupur District Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association; Huidrom Surjit, Kangleipak Thang-Ta Academy, Lairikyengbam Awang Leikai; Yumnam Bijoy, social worker, Ishok Ching Mamang Leikai as presidium members.

As many as 99 Thang-Ta students and teachers from 7 different Thang-Ta institutes participated in the workshop, said the Bishnupur District Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association in a press release.

Speaking at the event, Nongthombam Noren highlighted the intricacies of Ta-Khousaba, emphasizing that it requires skillful handling of the spear and precise footwork.

"This ancient art form teaches us how to cutmaneuver opponents using clever footwork, balance, and strategic pressure, as passed down by our ancestors through cryptic riddles," he explained, underscoring the importance of preserving this traditional martial art.
