Sh Nelly, Th Bincy, H Malemnganbi, and Th Brishtee reach U-11 girls' singles semis

Sh Nelly of Imphal east, Thokchom Bincy of Imphal West, H Malemnganbi of Thoubal and Thokchom Bristee of Imphal West all advanced to the U-11 girls' singles semi-finals of the 37th Inter Club and State Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship being underway at Indoor Stadium, DM University Campus.

Sh Nelly defeated compatriot L Eleena 11-6, 118,11-7 to make her way to the semi-final before Th Bincy notched up an 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 win against Kh Veeralaxmi of Imphal East in the second quarterfinal match.

H Malemnganbi of Thoubal meanwhile sealed a 11-4, 11-2, 11-4 win against Ningombam Restina of Thoubal in the third quarterfinal match before Thokchom Bristee sealed a 11-7, 11-9, 11-4 win over Okram Yaiphaba of Thoubal in the fourth quarterfinal match.

Stage set for U-11 boys singles quarterfinals

The quarterfinal line up for the U-11 Boys' Singles competition was also completed today.

Okram Punshiba of Thoubal fought his way to the quarterfinals with a 11-9, 511, 12-10, 11-9 win over compatriot L Ricky Singh in the 5th pre-quarterfinal match as AK Inglemba of Thoubal outlasted Nameirakpam with a 8-11, 11-6, 11-4, 17-15 comeback win against Nameirakpam Patrick of Thoubal.

Laishram Sisil of Kakching meanwhile reached the quarterfinals with a 11-3, 11-1, 11-1 win over Imphal West's Karam Tomthin in the sixth prequarterfinal match as Imphal East's Th Bhaktaraj got the better of S Arun of Thoubal 11-8, 12-10, 11-7 in the 4th pre-quarterfinal match.

In the 1st pre-quarterfinal match staged earlier, Rajkumar Athoiba of Imphal East sealed his quarterfinal ticket with a 11-2, 10-12, 112, 11-5 win over compatriot Th Thouyangbam before Thoubal's Ningombam Gyan pulled off a hard-fought 8-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-5, 11-6 win over W Lamjingba of Imphal East in the second prequarterfinal match of the competition.
