MU Inter College Weightlifting and Powerlifting Competitions underway

Imphal, October 28 2025: The Manipur University Inter College ege Weightlifting and Powerlifting Competitions 2025-26 hosted by Nambol L Sanoi College kicked off at the multipurpose hall of the college today.

The first day of the championship saw the completion of the weightlifting competition for both the men and women.

Khumukcham Luwangsana Chanu of Regional College bagged the women's 48 kg category title with a total lift of 133 kg (58 in snatch and 75 in jerk) as Chongtham Yaiphabi of Thambal Marik College won the 53 kg category title by recording a 157 kg lift (66 in snatch and 91 in jerk).

Keisham Pomshatnabi of NG College meanwhile claimed the women's 58 kg category title by posting a total lift of 170 kg (75 in snatch and 95 in jerk) while Ngasepam Ballerina of Thambal Marik College sealed the 63 kg category title with a total lift of 187 kg (84 in snatch and 103 in jerk), Arambam Premika of SSGG Girls' College sealed the 69 kg category title with a total lift of 146 kg (65 in snatch and 81 in jerk), Huidrom Gitanjali of Pravabati College clinched the 77 kg category title with a total lift of 160 kg (70 in snatch and 90 in jerk), and Oinam Dhaneshwori of Regional College bagged the 86 kg category title with a total lift of 109 kg (49 in snatch and 60 in jerk) .

Meanwhile, Langoljam Wilson of Regional College won the men's 60 kg category title amassing 223 kg (100 in snatch and 123 in jerk) as Dikash Yumnam of Thambal Marik College won the 65 kg category title registering 120 kg in snatch and 135 kg in clean and jerk.

Oinam Bikash of CI College, meanwhile, recorded 115 kg in snatch and 140 kg in clean and jerk to seal the men's 71 kg category title as Robert Takhelmayum of Liberal College claimed the 79 kg category title by amassing 258 kg (121 in snatch and 137 kg in jerk) .

Liberal College's Adisan Huidrom on the other hand earned the 88 kg category title by managing the best lift of 102 kg in snatch and 134 kg in clean and jerk.

The 110 kg category title meanwhile went to Huidrom Bikash who amassed 274 kg (119 in snatch and 155 in clean and jerk) as Mangai Sapam of Pravabati College recorded 109 kg in snatch and 116 kg in clean and jerk to win the +110 kg category title.

The event will conclude tomorrow.
