35th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship : State women in Regu event final, men settle for bronze

Imphal, October 26 2025: State women are in the Regu event final of the 35th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship being underway in Goa with a straight set victory over Delhi today in the semi-finals.

Manipur eased past Delhi 15-4, 15-14 to earn their place in the final.

Earlier in the league round the State women's team defeated Kerala, Chandigarh, Karnataka, Odisha in straight sets before signing off with a 2-1 sets win over Goa in the last league match.

They defeated Uttar Pradesh 15-5, 15-8 in the quarterfinals to confirm their semi-final ticket.

The State men's team however settled for a bronze medal in the Regu event as they beat Bihar 15-13, 15-6 in the hardline match following a 6-15, 12-15 semi-final defeat to AIPSCB .

Earlier in the league round, Manipur defeated Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Haryana, Gujarat and Kerala in straight sets before beating Assam by 2-1 sets in the concluding match.

Manipur booked their place in the semifinal with a 15-13, 15-11 win over Nagaland in the quarterfinals.

Quad Event

Manipur men's team sealed three wins in the four league stage matches of the Quad event today to boost their knock-out chances.

Manipur slumped to a 9-15, 11-15 loss to Chhattisgarh in the opening match but bounced back to beat Rajasthan 15-11, 15-13 in the second match.

They extended their winning run by defeating Assam 17-16,15-13 in the third match before securing a 15-9, 15-6 win over Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile in the women's competition, Manipur defeated West Bengal 15-4, 15-7 in the league opener before defeating Tamil Nadu 15-2, 15-2 and Rajasthan 15-5, 15-5 in the following matches.
